Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs throughout Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines from the army.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from the finance police, police, firefighters, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear.
