The 72nd edition of the DOC Valtènesi Wine Fair in Polpenazze del Garda concluded with extraordinary success, recording a significant number of visitors. The event, which took place until Monday, May 27th, fully met the expectations of the municipal administration and the organizers.

Founded in 1947, this event continues to be a reference point for enthusiasts of Valtènesi wines. This year, after the post-pandemic edition of 2023, the fair saw the participation of 25 wineries that offered over 200 labels for tasting. The historic center of Polpenazze transformed into a wine showcase, attracting thousands of people both locally and from other regions.

A highlight of the fair was the 18th National Wine Competition Valtènesi Garda Classico, where 48 wines were awarded the Excellence certificate. The jury was composed of ten sommeliers from the ONAV (National Organization of Wine Tasters), the Bresciani Wine Institute, and the Valtènesi Consortium.

Maria Rosa Avanzini, the mayor of Polpenazze del Garda, expressed great satisfaction: “The Fair confirms, for the 72nd time, an extremely important event for the town and the entire Valtènesi area. This success is a source of pride for both us organizers and the participating wineries.”

Massimo Corazza, fair coordinator and local councilor, emphasized the importance of the security measures adopted: “Thanks to law enforcement, private security agents, and volunteers, everything proceeded smoothly. Every year, bringing thousands of people to our historic center is a challenge that requires collaboration.”

The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture of Food Sovereignty and Forestry, the Lombardy Region, the Province of Brescia, and the local Chamber of Commerce. Among the partners were the Lombardy Lake Garda Consortium, the Valtènesi Consortium, and the Bresciani Wine Institute.

Mayor Avanzini wanted to thank all the people of Polpenazze: “Setting up and dismantling the fair may cause some inconvenience, but the success makes up for every sacrifice. Thanks to the commitment of those involved, we were able to effectively promote our wonderful village.”
