Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the service.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal guards.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri—just dial 112—at the first sign of being targeted by someone who,
