Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions on behalf of the force.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
How to recognize scams and how to respond
They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
having money, disappear without a trace.
