Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not real members of the military but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance authorities, police, fire brigade, or local municipal guards.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
