Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or local municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,
