Scammers Impersonate Police in Garda Area to Trick Business Owners

They impersonate the Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, ordinary police, fire brigade, or municipal police force.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies force.
