Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the city vigilance.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
