Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the arm.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, firefighters, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
