Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda region, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Identifying scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
