Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazines in Garda Area

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant operators in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

So, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you get the sense that you have been targeted by someone who,
