Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the armed forces.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the security forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
