Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They break into conversations with hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to magazines of the Carabinieri.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, every so often, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, no longer show themselves.
