Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Contact Garda Residents

They break into Carabinieri when contacting hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to magazines from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, on various occasions, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
