Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

Posing as Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal authorities.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, no longer appear in person.
