Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but swindlers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those with no connection to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, disappear and no longer appear.
