Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or Municipal officers.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, will no longer show themselves.
