Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurateurs in Middle and Upper Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the army.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
