Fraudsters Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize the Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by individuals who, if they have money, disappear afterward.
