Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to weapon magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
