Garda Scammers Pretending to Be Authorities Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, these scammers contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions by phone, offering subscriptions to her magazine.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, general police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

seeks money, then disappears.
