Scam Alert: Fake Carabinieri Target Garda Hoteliers and Shops

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the carabinieri magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

would demand money, and then disappear.
