Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Targeting Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, craftsmen, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

has money, but no longer makes themselves visible.
