Fraudulent Calls Impersonating Carabinieri in Garda Region Alerted

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the arm.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the Finance, Police, Fire Department, or Municipal Police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

have money, and then disappear.
