Scam Alert: Impersonators Pretending to Be Carabinieri for Fraud

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, disappear from sight.
