Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army-related magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality‘s authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, do not show themselves again.
