Scammers Impersonate Police to Trick Garda Business Owners

Pretending to be Carabinieri, individuals contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the Finance Police, Police, Fire Brigade, or the Municipal Police.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, stay vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,
