Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Businesses in Garda Region

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, firefighters, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you have the suspicion of being targeted by someone who,

would seek money, and then disappears.
