Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

has money, and then disappears.
