Scam Warning: Fake Carabinieri Impersonators Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

want money, no longer appear.
