Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
