Fraudsters Imitate Carabinieri to Scam Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance, police, fire brigades, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.
