Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to the force‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
