Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the forces’ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to fictitious magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
