Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are targeted by someone who,

if they ask for money, disappears and is no longer visible.
