Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Gasters in Garda Region

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or municipal police Vigili del Comune.

How to recognize scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

seeking money, stops communicating.
