Carabinieri Impersonators Targeting Garda Businesses Alerted by Police

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the regiment’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or Comune (Municipal) authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer be seen.
