Alessandra Campedelli Highlights Sports as a Bridge for Culture and Rights in Trento
A gender equality and women’s emancipation event will take place in Trento on February 18, 2026, featuring Alessandra Campedelli, an internationally renowned coach and author. The discussion, held at Sala Nones and part of Lions International’s “Io Posso” project, will explore how sports can serve as a tool for social change and challenge societal norms beyond borders, with input from University of Trento’s Vice-Rector Barbara Poggio.
Campedelli’s career roots in Arco, near Lake Garda, include coaching roles with local clubs and the Italian national field hockey team. Her recent international experience includes coaching women’s volleyball in Iran and Pakistan, where she confronted cultural and religious restrictions on women. Her insights are documented in her book “Io Posso,” highlighting sport’s role in empowering women amid societal constraints.
