Carabinieri Impersonators Scam Hoteliers and Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or ones unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer appear.
