Fraudsters Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the authorities.
