Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to army-related magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire department, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you get the feeling that you have been targeted by someone who,
