Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area, Hotlines Warn

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and promptly notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have fallen victim to individuals who,

if they had money, would not show themselves again.
