Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the arms magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone,

who, having taken money, no longer shows up.
