Carabinieri Phone Scams in Garda Region: How to Recognize and Report

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the arm‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune‘s municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or ones that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
