Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Fleece Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal authorities.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
