Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda to Target Local Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Mid and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
