Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you sense you have been targeted by someone who,
