Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making telephone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the armed forces‘ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
