Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Hoteliers and Shop Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the arma magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
