Fake Carabinieri Scams: Recognize and Report Fraudulent Calls

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to army’s magazines.

They are not real military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose fake magazine subscriptions or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
